This is a phenomenal application for newbies. When you find a document you want to record, this software easily helps you create a correct source citation for it, helps you evaluate it's reliability, and lets you attach it to every ancestor mentioned in the document. This is not a substitute for your database, but an important supplement to it. Since I've started using this product, I am producing a much higher quality of work and I've ensured that I have proper source citations for all my findings. FYI: The source citation templates contained in this application are based on ciation expert Elizabeth Shown Mills' (author of Evidence Explained). There is a free trial period so you can check it out for yourself.

As noted above, Elizabeth Shown Mills in an expert in this field with a focus on source citations. I love her website as it provides a lot of very valuable information. Her Quick Lessons are especially helpful as they dive deep into specific issues. You find quick lessons on such topics as Citing DNA Evidence, Research Reports, and Correspondence.
